Unlock The Narrative Intimacy Playbook That Turns Full Requests Into Offers Of Representation

Enter "the room where it happens:" get the data, the feedback, and the behind-the-scenes insight to snag an agent who sees the magic in your manuscript

Founding Member doors open July 1st.

This Is For You If:

  • You're a queer, BIPOC, neurodivergent, or otherwise marginalized author writing stories that reflect your lived experience — and you're done pretending that the standard querying advice was built with you in mind.

  • You've been querying long enough to know you're past the "work on your craft" stage. Your request rate proves it. What you need now isn't more polish — it's the specific insight that closes the gap between a manuscript that impresses and one that possesses.

  • You're writing because you were put on this earth to write these stories. Not to chase Booktok trends. Not to make yourself more palatable for a market that wasn't built for you. Because there are readers out there who needed this book at an earlier point in their life and couldn't find it — and you're the only one who can write it.

  • You handle feedback with grace, even when it stings. You're not precious about your pages. You're willing to kill your darlings if it means getting this story into the hands of the readers it was made for.

  • You believe someone else's offer of representation doesn't shrink yours. You show up for your fellow authors the way you want them to show up for you.

  • You're in this for the long haul. You understand there are no guarantees in traditional publishing — but you also refuse to keep going it alone without the data, the feedback, and the community that tilts the odds back in your favor.

That's What O.P.U.S. Authors Was Built For:

This gap isn't fixed by rewriting your entire novel, another developmental edit, or another six months in revision. It's fixed by understanding exactly where the distance is being created — and making targeted, surgical changes that collapse it completely.

That's what OPUS Authors is built to help you do. Specifically for the novel only you could have written.

The one you wrote for people like you.

What's Included:

The Narrative Intimacy Playbook

The step-by-step framework for diagnosing exactly where your manuscript is repelling agents and how to trigger the kind of deep and instant connection that has them reaching for the phone before they’ve even reached The End. The exact methodology that has helped OwnVoices authors turn R&Rs into offers, dead fulls into callbacks, and query fatigue into I can't believe how fast that happened.

Monthly Agent Q&A

Every month, a real literary agent joins us live — and says the things they can't say on their MSWL, in a podcast interview, or at a publishing conference with a microphone in their face. The #realtalk about what's actually happening in acquisitions right now, and what's making them move. What they wish they could tell you in the rejection but don't. This is the room where the real conversation happens — specifically tailored for #OwnVoices authors.

Monthly Manuscript Feedback

The feedback you've been desperately trying to triangulate from vague rejection letters and well-meaning beta readers who love you too much to tell you the truth. Every month, you bring your pages. You get real, specific, actionable notes — not "this isn't working for me" but here's exactly why, here's exactly what to do, and here's what it looks like when it's working.

The Data

What is actually getting OwnVoices manuscripts offers right now. Which agents are authentically acquiring — not just performing allyship on their MSWL — and which ones are quietly signing the same twelve authors they always have. Query strategy, comp titles, positioning, timing. The insider context that levels the playing field.

The Private Community

Not a Facebook group where posts go to die. A small, intentional room of OwnVoices authors who are serious about their craft, serious about getting repped, and serious about each other's success. The people who will celebrate your full request at 11pm on a Tuesday. Who will talk you off the ledge when the R&R lands and you're not sure whether to do it or shelve the manuscript. Who understand the specific struggle of being #OwnVoices in an industry that was not made for us.

Price: $97/mo

The result of all of it?

You stop revising in circles and start revising with precision.

You stop wondering what agents mean and start knowing exactly what to give them.

You stop querying into the void and start querying with the kind of quiet confidence that comes from understanding the game — and having people in your corner who want you to win it.

You wake up to a full request that turns into a call that turns into an offer from an agent who gets on the phone and says "I need to know everything else you're working on."

The one who loves your characters as much as you do.

The one who was looking for exactly this book, even if they didn't know it yet.

This Is Your Invitation:

This is your invitation.

OPUS Authors launches exclusively to the waitlist — and founding member pricing locks in the moment you join.

That means the $97/month Founding Member's rate you see today is not the rate that exists six months from now. Founding members pay less. Forever. Because you believed in this room before it was built, and that's my way of saying thank you.

The $5 deposit reserves your spot on the waitlist and guarantees you first access on launch day — before doors open to the public.

It takes thirty seconds.

And it might be the most important thirty seconds you spend on your manuscript this year.

On the fence? Let's look at the numbers:

A single publishing conference: $500–$2,000, not including travel and hotel, for 3 days of panels where agents give the same vague advice they always give and sample page critiques that tell you your writing is strong but don't tell you why it isn't connecting

A developmental editor: $1,500–$5,000 for one pass on one manuscript — from someone who will make your book better-written, but has no framework for closing the Identity Gap and no access to what agents are actually responding to right now

An MFA program: $30,000–$80,000 for two years of craft training that will produce technically excellent prose and zero insight into what creates the connection response in a literary agent's nervous system

OPUS Standard: $97/month — with live feedback, real-time market intelligence, and the only methodology specifically built to close the Identity Gap

OPUS Premium: $197/month — with everything above plus 1:1 page-level feedback directly applied to your manuscript, every single month

Hey 👋, I'm Destiny

I'm a book consultant, Creative Writing graduate of Princeton, and former literary agency insider who left traditional publishing because I got tired of watching the system fail OwnVoices authors from the inside.

I've worked at Sterling Lord Literistic. I've sat inside Big 5 imprints. I've read the slush pile, parsed the rejections, and watched agents talk about #OwnVoices manuscripts in rooms where they thought no one who looked like me was listening.

And then I queried my own North African-inspired YA fantasy and experienced exactly what my clients experience — the effusive praise, the vague rejections, the R&R that wanted me to sand down everything that made my story mine.

That experience cracked something open. Because I had every advantage — the connections, the credential, the insider knowledge — and I still hit every wall you've hit. Which told me the problem wasn't craft, and it wasn't marketability.

It was something else. Something invisible. Something nobody was naming.

That's when I developed Narrative Intimacy — the framework that identifies and closes the specific gap between a manuscript agents admire and a manuscript agents can't put down.

The methodology that has since helped OwnVoices authors turn years of "so close" into offers of representation from agents who get on The Call and say "I need to know everything else you're working on."

I built OPUS Authors because that insight shouldn't be a privilege. You shouldn't need an MFA, a publishing connection, or a lucky conference encounter to understand what's actually happening in the room where decisions about your manuscript get made.

You just need the right people in your corner.
